Winter is Coming by Lizzy Hardingham

Winter is coming right round the corner, my dear

The leaves have all whispered their last

The chimney smoke’s curls a to sky that is crisp dark and clear

As we wait for the long night to pass

Let it snow, let it howl
Let it cover the ground, my love

There's a fire in your eyes no winter can drown

So stay close, till the thaw comes down

The fireside’s sighing soft in its cradle of stone,
Outside the world whitens still
We’ll pull the curtains and rest all our tired old bones
While winter keeps watch at the sill

Let it snow, let it howl
Let it cover the ground, my love

There's a fire in your eyes no winter can drown

So stay close, till the thaw comes down

Instrumental

So let the frost take the rivers and the roads
We’ll stoke the fire while the wild winds blow

Let it snow, let it howl
Let it cover the ground, my love

There's a fire in your eyes no winter can drown

So stay close, till the thaw comes down
